L’Oréal Le Color Gloss: Best Blonde Hair Toner
L’Oréal’s Le Color Gloss is one of those products that manages to feel both nostalgic and practical. It shares that same drugstore sweet floral fragrance that has a hint of bubble gum, and it instantly reminds me of the Playboy Bunny perfumes that were popular in the mid-2000s. It’s that unmistakable scent that’s a little girly, a little synthetic, but oddly comforting if you grew up with it.
The formula itself is a dark purple with a fluid lotion consistency, which means it spreads easily through damp hair, but fair warning, it’s a bit messy. Still, it’s the kind of product where you cut the bottle open to get every last bit because it works so well. It gives my hair a nice glimmer and doesn’t weigh it down at all. My hair stays soft and floaty after every use.
I find that this is a go-to product as a bottle blonde! It really keeps my balayage looking bright and not brassy, extending the life of my highlights. I usually leave it in for about 10 to 15 minutes depending on how ashy I want my tone to look, and I can genuinely see the difference right after rinsing. My hair feels smooth, refreshed, and salon-toned. It's almost like a professional glossing service at home.
At around CA $20 (and sometimes on sale for $15), the price is fantastic for the results it delivers. Since I only use it once a week or every other week, the bottle lasts quite a while, making it even better value for money.
The only negatives are that the packaging is not environmentally friendly, and I don’t think the product has clean ingredients. It also tends to stain your shower and your skin if you don’t rinse it off well, which is something to keep in mind when applying it. But even with those drawbacks, it’s too good of a product to not give it five lipsticks!
