The Detox & The Restore: Living Proof Rituals for Renewal
Living Proof Clarifying Detox Shampoo
The Living Proof Clarifying Detox Shampoo has an almost men’s-cologne freshness . It's not musky, but clean with a slightly darker edge that feels elevated and sophisticated. It’s gentle, with minimal lather, yet it removes product buildup and oil easily, leaving my hair refreshed and weightless.
Despite being a clarifying shampoo, it doesn’t dry my hair out at all, which is rare. My hair feels soft and balanced afterwards—never stripped.
I also love that it’s free of parabens, formaldehydes, and sulfates (SLS & SLES), and completely cruelty-free. At $54 CAD for 236 mL, it’s definitely a splurge, but a little goes a long way. I’d happily repurchase it on sale, knowing it performs beautifully and feels gentle enough for regular use.
The quality is undeniable, but considering there are other clarifying shampoos that deliver comparable results at a lower price, I can’t quite give it a full 5. Still, it’s a standout in its category.
Living Proof Restore Hair Mask
The Living Proof Restore Hair Mask carries a fresh, lemongrass-like scent that’s subtle and clean. The texture is thick and creamy, giving that salon-level hydration right at home.
I got a 10 mL sample alongside a Sephora birthday gift and I used the entirety of the sample in one sitting. It was just the right amount for my hair which is mid-back length. A full-sized 236 mL jar costs $51 CAD, which equals about 24 uses, or roughly $2.20 per wash, it's pricey, but fair considering the results.
My hair felt incredibly soft, bouncy, and shiny afterwards. It stayed light and fresh for days, without any greasiness or heaviness. It’s the kind of product that feels like a quiet luxury. And one that actually delivers what it promises.
As much as I love the results, I know there are more affordable masks that come close in performance. I’d repurchase this during a sale or as a treat when my hair needs that extra bit of care.
